This was the bloodiest battle of the war involving US troops.〔Ferrell, Robert H. 2012. America's Deadliest Battle: Meuse-Argonne, 1918. Lawrence: University Press of Kansas.〕 Peck acted gallantly in the surrounding unit, saving two wounded men under machine gun fire. ==Biography== Peck was born in Tyrone, New York on November 22, 1894 and died September 15, 1978. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery Sinclairville, New York.
